KIORE is a Brisbane born artist with a heart that reaches the farthest corners of the earth. Inspired by the stories told by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Nina Simonne, Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney, every song she writes aims to be an experience that can be shared, treasured and celebrated. 

 

In her final year at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, the culmination of her studies and the friendships made within the Popular Music degree has enriched her creative palette. Fostering a community spirit is crucial to KIORE's creative process and reflects the proud roots of her Maori and Cook Islander heritage- from her love of collaborating with artists such as Ruby Jo and Alex Sologon as a session keyboardist/vocalist, to producing projects that involve and inspire the greater community. KIORE's songwriting prowess has been recognised on a local and national level: she has been featured in Michelle Obama's Signing Day 2021 celebrations, and has received radio-play in Melbourne. 

 

KIORE's "old soul" style and passion for storytelling can be seen in her debut EP, "Every Moment Under the Sun". This musical project follows the daily cycle, and each song conveys the sounds, energy and story within each time of day. Premiered at sold out launch at Black Bear Lodge, KIORE's self-proclaimed style of “Heart and Soul” was well received as a fusion of anything from Soul, RnB, Pop, Jazz and Funk to create a dynamic, interactive soundscape for her audience. Her journey so far highlights the direction that KIORE aims to continue along in her musical journey: discovering and uncovering, listening and speaking stories that are underpinned by various musical scapes and explorations.
